Passion. It’s in our core.

Where passion for learning is inherent in the culture

“When discussing why I chose UChicago, I always say it is because of the people. There’s something so unique about the people who come here — there is this passion to learn. Your peers challenge you to think in complex, different ways, be a better person, and truly open your eyes to all the opportunities available.

While UChicago is not an easy school, the incredibly diverse and collaborative community is unparalleled. I love how many countless, thought-provoking conversations I’ve had with friends, where we debate the meaning of free will at the dinner table before getting sidetracked by Harry Potter. Altogether, what is so special about UChicago is that students are immersed in a culture where they are taught how to think and not what to think. It is an environment that has helped me to become a more well-rounded person and find my community, and it will be the thing I miss most when I graduate.”
